Repertoire. You can find a performance of just about everything on youtube. If you can’t find what you want it is worth trying different variations on the title. There are performances by amazing pros for students to aspire to + performances of students recitals, practice experiments - these are quite good because your student can start to compare a ‘good’ performance versus a not so proficient performance!
Lessons. There are lots of videos teaching you how to do just about everything! From ‘how to make a sound on the headjoint’ , vibrato, practice techniques, extended techniques to master classes with the stars.
Historical Performances. There are some beautiful performances by flautists no longer with us like Rampal, Moyse, Really interesting to compare sounds and style of different performers. There are even performances by the composer like Rampal playing Poulenc Sonata with Poulenc!
Channels. You can subscribe to or set up your own channel on youtube. It’s like a TV channel, a spot where you can collect your favourite videos, upload your own videos and share them with other like minded people. Potentially a place to share stuff with students. There a different privacy settings so that you don’t have to have the whole world accessing your channel. This is particularly important if you are uploading videos of children.
